Patricia Wolf is a musician, sound designer, and field recordist residing in Portland, Oregon. Wolf’s work sonically unites natural and modern worlds, integrating ecological sources into her minimalist compositions. Using melody and repetition she lures listeners to her hypnotic inner space, conjuring vivid textures and atmospheres imbued with emotion.
Alexandra Spence is a sound artist and musician whose practice reimagines the intricate relationships between the listener, the object, and the surrounding environment as a kind of communion or conversation. Her aesthetic favours field recordings, analogue technologies and object interventions.
Alex has presented her art and music globally including AB Salon, Brussels; Ausland, Berlin; BBC Radio; Café Oto, London; Cave12, Geneva; EMS, Stockholm; Liveworks Festival, with Liquid Architecture, Sydney; Museo Reina Sofia, Madrid; MONO, Brisbane; Punkt Festival, Kristiansand; Radiophrenia Festival at the CCA Glasgow; Sound Forms Festival, Hong Kong; Standards Studio, Milan; & Volume Festival, Art Gallery of NSW, Sydney. She regularly collaborates with MP Hopkins as Banana.
She has released her music with Room40, Longform editions, Mappa, Canti Magnetici (solo), More Mars & Infant Tree (as Banana), receiving Bandcamp recommendations and reviews in the likes of The Quietus and The Wire Magazine: "Her sense of field is broader. It's as if she is trying to capture a whole landscape of sound entire... We ought to spend more time with Alexandra Spence, with our ears simply & honestly open.”
