The Bay Area series of extreme music continues with installment #97, featuring performances by Actuary, Collision Stories (Mason Jones, Michael Gendreau, Jorge Bachman, & Bryan Day), R.K. Faulhaber, Anti Matter, Fletcher Pratt, Famous Techno, Compression of the Chest Cavity Miracle w/ Syrnx, and Earth Jerks.

Brutal Sound Effects Festivals started at Club Kommode, an underground venue on 16th st, circa 1997 to differentiate between the rock shows of sombre proportions the club let in to pay the rent. It moved over to Clud Teuffel, The Clit Stop, 21 Grand, Dildo Factory, and has been bouncing to wherever off and on at The Lab.

No Fun did a BSFX feature show where they stuck some people in the basement to showcase "bay noise". This was a marketing plan that looked great in print, and paid off with an audience of curious chemical storage in the basement huffing audio gobblers. Was that the pinnacle of success …or goal for the bay to get as far away as Brooklyn? Not sure. The ill defined brutal banner flops on without permanent housing wherever sounds of a peculiar notion are needed.
